About Liszt
I have been learning piano for what seems like my entire life. I started at the young age of 5, and have gone through more teachers than I can remember. However, I never felt like I was connecting with any of my instructors, as although they were quite proficient at their craft, they couldn't provide the relatability and enjoyment that would make any child's learning journey infinitely more enriching.
This is why I decided to do it different.
Being completely honest, teaching an instrument is quite the daunting task. Most children at 5 (myself included) couldn't care less about playing the piano, and would shy away from the task almost immediately after only the first lesson. After all, how many kids at that age really want to sit down for even 30 minutes, performing a monotonous task like playing their scales with a metronome ticking in the corner? I remember the amount of times I had almost been bored to tears over practicing for hours on end as a child, expecting no return out of all of the hard work I'd put in.
It doesn't have to be that way. It shouldn't be.
Music is a beautiful, expressive way of connecting with not only people, but yourself. I consider it a gift to be able to learn music, and cannot describe in words the joy it brings me to teach children this enthralling art. Learning music should not only be a fun and engaging experience , but something that leaves a positive impact on a child's life. At Liszt, it is ensured that every single student has a life-changing experience with music. This includes enjoyable activities like various piano-related games, prizes, and challenging yet rewarding songs that make for a constructive and pragmatic time for your child.
Important information
The lessons will primarily be taught from the Alfred's Premier Piano course series. I love this series, as it gives children the perfect platform to start learning the piano, and can ensure that their learning experience is genuinely enjoyable and engaging. They are categorized by levels, and the levels will be decided depending on the student's skill level when beginning the classes.
I also only teach children from ages 7+, as by then, they have a fundamental understanding of basic mathematical concepts, which are important to learn some advanced facets of later music theory.
Lessons will be charged as following:
One half hour lesson: $20.00
One 45-minute lesson: $28.00
One full hour lesson: $36.00
I also offer premium package lessons at a discounted price:
10 half hour lesson premium package: $150.00 (vs $200.00 when paid per-lesson)
10 full hour lesson premium package: $350.00 (vs $450.00 when paid per-lesson)
20 half hour lesson premium package: $300.00 (vs $400.00 when paid per-lesson)
20 full hour lesson premium package: $600.00 (vs $900.00 when paid per-lesson) (BEST VALUE)
NOTE - Premium prices are non-refundable, even if a student misses a lesson. All prices listed above are non-negotiable.
Lastly, I try to keep a professional and collaborative environment between myself and parents in order to make these lessons as productive and helpful as possible. To maintain such an environment, a few expectations must be met -
- Payments are required to be on time and immediate. This means that as soon as the lesson is over, payment is expected. I am very flexible with the type of payment, and will accept cash or any digital-payment platform that you prefer. Failure of consistent and on-time payment may result in termination of classes.
- Attendance is mandatory as well. I request any parents to inform me at least 1 week ahead of time if any problems arise. I am also flexible with schedules, and am available to offer classes whenever it is of convenience to parents. However, I will not accept last minute changes, and any lessons that day will be cancelled. If a premium package is purchased, the lesson that day will not be refunded.
- Please be aware of punctuality. If a lesson starts at 5:00, I expect parents to drop off their children at least 5 minutes prior to the beginning of the lesson. This applies after the lesson ends too, which means that parents must be available to pick up their child almost exactly after the lesson ends. I value your time immensely, which is why I think it is of utmost importance if you could do the same for me as well. A continuous lack of punctuality may also result in the termination of classes.
If the aforementioned rules are followed and respected, an amazing experience for the student and parent can be ensured.
